After Water Delay, Megan Thee Stallion’s Atlanta Show Finally Goes On

    5 Min Read

Megan Thee Stallion’s Hot Girl Summer tour was supposed to twerk into the Atlanta week, but the city’s water issues caused some scheduling problems for the “Wap” rapper.

Megan Thee Stallion had to cancel her Friday night show due to Atlanta water issues. She posted on social media the following message:

“I’m extremely disappointed because I had a huge surprise for the Hotties tonight, but we will follow the Mayor’s protocol. Tonight’s show is rescheduled for THIS SUNDAY June 2nd,2024. We will still move forward with tomorrows show, Praying for the people who lost access to water due to this situation,” Megan said.

She also had to cancel Saturday’s show, with no makeup date announced. The show on Sunday went on without a hitch, although it too was iffy for a few hours.

The Texas-based artist’s highly-anticipated “Hot Girl Summer Tour” with Grammy-nominated artist GloRilla has added some dates due to multiple sellouts and high demand.

When Did The Hot Girl Summer Tour Coming To Atlanta?

Megan Thee Stallion was set to perform in Atlanta on June 2 at State Farm Arena. She ended up having a Sunday show after all .

Atlanta was one of the shows that Live Nation added to The “Hot Girl Summer Tour,” which now includes 33 dates across North America and Europe.

Megan formally announced the tour on March 20, which marked her first-ever, headlining tour in arenas across the globe and will feature a special Chicas Divertidas VIP section. As part of the announcement, she also shared that GloRilla – who has delivered award-winning hits such as “Tomorrow 2 (feat Cardi B),” “FNF” and “Yeah Glo!,” – would join her on the domestic leg of the “Hot Girl Summer Tour.”

The tour comes after her latest song “HISS” debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in February. “HISS” also became the first-ever, solo female rap song to debut No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200 and, as a result, Megan now owns the record for the biggest first week for a solo female rap song in history.

The achievement signified Megan’s third No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, following her other chart-topping hits such as “Savage (Remix)” with Beyoncé and “WAP” with Cardi B. The song was Megan’s second solo release via Hot Girl Productions – her independent music and entertainment entity.

It’s the latest in a series of trailblazing milestones for Megan in 2024. Most recently, Planned Parenthood announced plans to honor Megan with the organization’s Catalyst for Change Award at its annual gala in New York City on April 16.

Not everyone has the appetite to visit the newest restaurants and food trucks in the city every weekend. Sometime you just want to go to a place less traveled, but just as exciting. Atlanta has these “hidden gems” in every corner.

Here’s what one reviewer says about the Swan House mansion at Atlanta History Center: “This is an incredibly Hidden Gem in the center of Atlanta. There are 30 Acres of Gardens and grounds to walk and the structure is absolutely astronomical and fresa. There is such a mix of different elements of other European countries. The building reflects a deep tone of Italy and French and also Spanish influences.”

Fani Willis Wins Democratic Primary for Fulton County DA

    3 Min Read

Embattled Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis won the Democratic primary for her seat on Wednesday, May 22, 2024. In her speech, Willis referenced her indictment of former President Trump and co-defendants.

“It’s a message that’s pissing folks off, but there is no one above the law in this country, nor is there anyone beneath it,” Willis said.

She said that when she started to clean up the Atlanta streets, she told people that there was a gang problem in Atlanta. “If you don’t deal with reality; reality will deal with you.”

“We’re in this fight for the long haul,” Willis said. ‘I’ve put together a team of fierce warriors,” she said, referring to her legal team. She said violent crime is down 29%. “We’re doing something right here in Fulton County.”

She noted that her Republican Challenger Courtney Kramer has amassed a vast war chest to unseat her.

“Don’t get confused. She is a real threat because of who backs her and how they back her,” Willis said. “She does not have allegiance to the people of my county. She has allegiance to politics and the powerful interests.”

Willis went on to expand on her efforts to reduce crime, which she said she’s done with the help of neighboring municipalities.

“Some may say that we must choose between justice and safety, but I reject that,” she said. “What they’re really saying is that certain people matter less — that certain people’s children matter less. I reject that.”

She also touched on her trials and that she’s had bomb dogs at her home and a security detail like no other.

“As we have labored in the vineyards of justice, I have been under constant attack. I’ve had to move out of my home, where I raised my two beautiful daughters,” she said. “I owe law enforcement my life. You are absolutely my heroes and I would not have gotten through this without you.”

Willis echoed some of the same points she’s said when she’s been in front of a crowd in Atlanta on other occasions. Willis, speaking at a private fundraiser in Atlanta in honor of her 52nd birthday months ago, opened up on the many verbal attacks and racist threats she said she’s endured over the past couple of months.

Willis has been attacked in an unprecedented fashion by Republicans opposed to her prosecution of Trump and his cohorts.

After much scrutiny and allegations of impropriety from opposed Republicans, Willis and her colleague Nathan Wade admitted to having a romantic relationship. Wade stepped down from the case and Willis trekked on.

At her side was Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens, who said, “She’s been going through fire and coming out like a Phoenix.”

Where Is The Outkast Mural Located In Atlanta?

    2 Min Read

Legendary Atlanta rap group OutKast have been memorialized with a huge mural on the side of a building in Atlanta. If you want to know where the mural is located, here is the address.

Where Is The Outkast Mural Located?

The mural is located in Atlanta’s Little Five Points neighborhood behind the WISH fashion boutique at 447 Moreland Ave NE #1562, Atlanta, GA 30307. Here is a map to help you find it.

The 30-foot mural was created by North Carolina-based artist JEKS, who painted it freehand. The mural is part of the Outer Space Project, an annual international event aimed at beautifying public spaces.

The artwork is based on a picture shot by Jonathan Mannion, who is known in the entertainment industry as a hip-hop photographer.

    About OutKast

OutKast is the greatest music group to come out of Atlanta. That is not a question. What is also not arguable is the fact that André “André 3000” Benjamin and Antwan “Big Boi” Patton are largely responsible for the mainstream acceptance of Southern hip-hop.

Since the founding of OutKast on the corner of Headland and Delowe Drive in East Point, Georgia, the rappers have shaped the culture like no other.

Northern Lights Put On a Show In Georgia

    3 Min Read

So, you didn’t quite get to see the purplish aurora illuminating across the Georgia night sky for past few nights. Do you still have time to see the northern lights in Atlanta and elsewhere in Georgia? Yes.

Auroras illuminating the night skies across the United States are an ongoing festival for the eyes that will continue into May 13 and May 14, 2024, according to federal forecasters.

Apart from the U.S., there have been reports of sightings in Germany, Switzerland, China, England, and Spain. The timing is convenient for viewers, although those keen on spotting auroras may need to stay up late to catch the best views.

Forecasters from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) predict that the geomagnetic storm activity that have given Georgians beautiful displays of northern lights will likely peak again on Monday and Tuesday, although there is a possibility of cloud cover on Monday night.

The latest updates from the center suggest that Earth may experience geomagnetic storm activity on Monday, potentially extending into Tuesday.

“The two maps show the aurora and viewline tonight (Sunday, May 12) and tomorrow night (Monday, May 13). The brightness and location of the aurora is typically shown as a green oval centered on Earth’s magnetic pole.  The green ovals turn red when the aurora is forecasted to be more intense.  Aurora can often be observed somewhere on Earth from just after sunset or just before sunrise. The aurora is not visible during daylight hours.  The aurora does not need to be directly overhead but can be observed from as much as a 1000 km away when the aurora is bright and if conditions are right,” the NOAA says.
