The festivities are happening on Sunday, June 23, from 4:30 – 9:30 p.m. at Coalition Food and Beverage, located at 50 Canton St. Suite 108, Alpharetta, GA 30009.

In a normal year, you could expect up to 80,000 to converge upon downtown Decatur for the book festival, including countless authors, book publishers and literary fans. This year, it’s reasonable to expect a more subdued attendance.

Update June15, 2019: Comedian and movie star Tiffany Haddish has canceled her planned performance at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta over the state’s “heartbeat” bill.
The actress sent a statement to ticketholders saying that “After much deliberation, I am postponing my upcoming show in Atlanta. I love the state of Georgia, but I need to stand with women and until they withdraw Measure HB481, I cannot in good faith perform there.”
The controversial heartbeat bill will go into effect January 1, 2020 unless lawmakers reverse course. Critics fear the state’s film industry will be gutted if the bill becomes law.

“Bad Boys for Life,” the third installment of the cop franchise, wrapped filming in Atlanta recently.
The blockbuster film starring Will Smith and Martin Lawrence had been shooting around metro Atlanta for the past few months.

The movie also stars Emily Towles, Theresa Randle as Theresa Burnett, Marcus’s wife and Gabrielle Union as Syd Burnett, Mike’s fiancee.
The film is set to be released on January 17, 2020.
