BrewDog Brewery Opens On Atlanta’s Eastside Trail

    2 Min Read

If you’re looking for a cold one in Midtown Atlanta, make sure you check out Old Fourth Ward’s newest brewery, BrewDog.

The establishment opened its doors along the Beltline’s Eastside Trail on Friday, October 14, 2022, and joins a powerful stable of local breweries with flavorful ales and beers.

    What’s On Tap At BrewDog?

BrewDog features the brand’s best Headliner pours, including Elvis Juice and Punk IPA. There’s also an onsite Brew Kit that makes ciders from Georgia-grown fruit.

The business is also intentional about supporting local breweries, so you can expect to see a rotating list of Atlanta beer makers. Yes, that means the good folks at  New Realm, Wrecking Bar, Halfway Crooks in Summerhill, Arches in Hapeville and many others.

    What’s To Eat At BrewDog?

When it comes to pub grub, BrewDog’s menu sounds like an action picture on the plate. Here are some burger highlights:

There’s the Cluck Norris: Buttermilk fried chicken, avocado, red onion,
cajun mayo & cilantro. The Patriot, which is a 7oz beef patty, smoked bacon, cheddar cheese,
pickles, red onion, lettuce & bbq sauce. We can’t leave out the Fast Joe, a 7oz beef patty, cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, mayonnaise, pickles, red onion & Elvis Juice bacon jam.

There’s also salads, sandwiches and plant-based options for those who want to go meatless with your ale.

    Where Is BrewDog Located?

BrewDog is located at 112 Krog St. NE, Atlanta, GA. 30307 just off the BeltLine Eastside Trail at The Stove Works, adjacent to Krog Steet Market. Here’s a map to help you find it.

    Final Word

If BrewPub is any indication, Atlanta’s craft beer scene is on and pouring! Make sure you check out Krog Street Market, one of Atlanta’s many food halls.

Traveling to the city’s midsection can lead to unexpected adventures, including new restaurant openings and more.

The playground, and all play areas for that matter, could use a good pressure washing. The baseball field looks nice but no rec sports are offered by this park. There’s no public engagement from the city at this park. Which is unfortunate because our community needs it! Maybe a burger/hot dog day in exchange for the community to come out and clean up the park while meeting the neighbors. Just a thought.”

I haven’t sat down to think in quite some time. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m thinking and brainstorming, problem solving and draining my brain constantly in typical #momlife fashion…but I haven’t been mindfully thinking. Summer is a season of adventure and activity, of projects and exploring. And this summer was harder because we changed our eating habits and suddenly I was thrown into a world of researching/shopping/cooking/cleaning/repeat. So any chance to be mindful was lost. My best friend and I were chatting over coffee the other day and she asked me a question about my opinion on a current event. And I went blank. I honestly couldn’t come up with my own opinion because I hadn’t sat down to contemplate anything beyond the pile of laundry sitting in front of me. This fall feels ready for change. Ready for me to carve out time to process. Ready for me to be intentional with so many parts of my life that are on autopilot. Breathe.

One Google reviewer said: “I love coming to this place. Situated on Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway, Maddox Park is a hot location due to its inclusion in the Beltline designs. Want easy access? Maddox Park is conveniently located across from the Bankhead MARTA Station.

Here’s what one reviewer said: “With the train station being literally at the park, the industrial ambiance is quite relaxing, if you ask me. The Marta train station is located across the street. Thankfully, a pavilion is close in distance to cool off at & is perfect for hosting parties. The basketball court is gated and filled with great street players. There is also a gated pool with a kiddie umbrella water area. The only thing I dislike is the lack of parking spaces in front of the parks community building.”

City’s Finest Attend 2022 Atlanta Fashion & Polo Classic (PICS)

    3 Min Read

A who’s who of influential Atlantans converged on a palatial estate in Fairburn, Georgia recently to attend the final day of the  2022 fifth Annual Atlanta Fashion & Polo Classic. The star-studded three-day event concluded on a sunny Sunday afternoon about 15 minutes south of Atlanta.

Notable attendees included Sheree Whitfield (RHOA), Martell Holt ( Love & Marriage Huntsville), Egypt Sherrod and Mike Jackson (HGTV’s Married to Real Estate), Frank Ski (KISS 104.1), Guy Lambert (FOX 5 DC) Tony Terry, Pastor Troy, Toccara Jones (America’s Next Top Model), Dr. Kevin James (president of Morris Brown College), and more.

Sponsored by Bentley Atlanta and the Corbett Group, the Atlanta Fashion & Polo Classic featured three days of food, drinks, live music, fashion, cigars, and equestrian exhibitions, which took place in the form of the “Black Tie Experience”, “Polo & Pumps Brunch and Day Party”, “Cocktails and Cigars Under the Stars” and the Annual Atlanta Fashion & Polo Classic.

“I’m so appreciative of everyone who showed up and showed out this year,” said Miguel Wilson, founder of the Atlanta Fashion & Polo Classic. “With this being our fifth year, it’s safe to say that we’re no longer the new kids on the block, but now a staple in the community. This is demonstrated by the many people who attend every year, especially those who buy their tickets months in advance and those who travel from other states.”

One of the more unique aspects of this event is that it features Black fashion designers, emerging and established. It gives these designers a platform to showcase the quality of their work. It also provides a space for Black vendors who make luxury goods which includes jewelry, spirits, cigars, helicopters, and more.

The Atlanta Fashion & Polo Classic serves as the biggest fundraising event for the Ride to the Olympics Foundation, a non-profit organization that aims to provide support to kids who desire to pursue equestrian activities; especially those who normally wouldn’t have the opportunity due to socio-economic obstacles. All proceeds from the 5th Atlanta Fashion & Polo Classic will go towards the Ride to the Olympics Foundation.

“With all of the events that we put on during this weekend and all of the vendors and fashion designers that we showcase, all black-owned might I add, it’s easy to forget that this is a fundraising event. Our goal is to raise money for the Ride to the Olympics Foundation so that we can continue to provide equestrian experiences to the youth, create more all-Black polo teams, and create more polo teams at HBCUs. And ultimately, we want to send a Black person to the Olympics to compete in equestrian sports, which has never been done,” Wilson said.
