Of course, Atlanta’s Airbnbs offer some of the best homes in the Southeast, but as with anything, it needs to make financial sense.
Atlanta has some affordable apartments, but you may be inclined for a hotel or an Airbnb.
Is It Cheaper To Book A Hotel Or Airbnb?
A new report from FitSmallBusiness.com shows that renting an Airbnb in a medium-sized city like Austin or St. Louis makes way more financial sense than doing so in a major metropolitan mecca like Atlanta.
One reason for this is cities like Atlanta, New York and San Francisco have a high average housing costs. And these costs are will be added to the visitor’s bottom line.
There’s also a premium on Airbnbs in these large cities because of increasingly hostile housing regulations, which severely limit the supply of Airbnb locations. That causes their prices to rise.
To come up with the numbers, the site looked at the following criteria:
- Price (55%)
- Amenities, inclusions, travel purpose (20%)
- Availability (10%)
- Location (10%)
- Regulatory environment (5%)
