Super Bowl LIII has drawn sports stars, celebrities and more to Atlanta for all types of events. One of the top happenings was the Power Sports Brunch, which took place Wednesday, Jan. 29 in Buckhead.

The Power Sports Brunch brought some major players to Davio’s Italian Steakhouse for a festive time. The event was presented by LPS Consulting PR & WISE Atlanta.

Power Sports Brunch: Celebrities, athletes talk empowerment in Atlanta

The brunch was a chance for powerful women to celebrate themselves but also remind each other that more progress is needed.

Amy Trask, former CEO of the Oakland Raiders, said that some businesses simply shouldn’t be around if they don’t provide an equal playing field.

“If a business does not hire without regard to race, gender, ethnicity, religion or any other individual characteristic, which has nothing to do whatsoever with whether a person can accomplish or succeed or achieve in business, well then that business deserves to fail.”

Those individualities I listed have no impact whatsoever on whether one can do a good job,” Trask said.

Veteran ESPN reporter Lisa Salters told AtlantaFi.com that representation makes a difference.

“In any aspect of life, it’s important to have diversity of voices. The more voices you have, the more inclusive you are, the better any product is going to be. Women watch sports, women participate in sports, women should be covering sports.”
