On the heels of its new music app, Amazon has announced that it will hire around 500 people in support roles.

The news was first published in the Atlanta Business Chronicle, which reports that company officials are calling the city “the epicenter of modern music.”

Amazon recently launched its new live radio app, Amp, with the news that rapper Nicki Minaj will soon bring  her highly rated radio show, Queen Radio, to the platform.

Other artists with radio shows include Pusha T, singer-songwriter Tinashe, electronic artist and violinist Lindsey Stirling, Travis Barker, Lil Yachty, and Big Boi.

What Is Amp?

Amp is a music app that allows creators to use tens of millions of licensed songs from Universal Music Group, Sony Music Entertainment, Warner Music Group as well as several independent music companies.

The app is free to use and doesn’t require a subscription, giving you immediate access to a library of songs you can use to create live radio shows. There’s also a community aspect to the app, which allows you to interact with callers in real time.

“By bringing these incredible personalities into the beta, creators can experience Amp in a way that drives the feedback needed to build the app together, ahead of a public launch later this year,” said John Ciancutti, vice president of Amp,

How To Get The Amp App

If you’re interested in getting the Amp app, you can get access to the beta version by downloading Amp from the U.S. iOS App Store and signing up for the waitlist, or by subscribing to the Amp Newsletter.
