A day earlier, the City of Atlanta announced that ater services have been fully restored for residents. “We understand the significant inconvenience and hardships caused by this unexpected disruption, and we sincerely apologize to all affected residents,” the city said.
Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens said, “Tuesday night, last night the Department of Watershed Management finished the repairs and were able to close up the whole,” he said.

— City of Atlanta, GA (@CityofAtlanta) June 5, 2024Early Tuesday, a contingent from the Army Corps of Engineers planned to arrive in Atlanta to help with the city’s water crisis, which has stretched into another week. The crux of the issue, according to several city officials, is the Atlanta’s crumbling infrastructure.
Many of the affected pipes were built in the 1920s, 1930s and 1940s, city officials have said.
Atlanta’s boil water advisory was lifted for certain portions of the city as the Department of Watershed Management updated its map of the impacted areas. If your residence or business falls within the boundaries of this new map, please continue to follow boil water protocol.
Updated: Atlanta Boil Water Advisory
As of 7 p.m., Monday, these were the areas of Atlanta still under a boil water advisory:

Find out if your address is affected.
If you need water, here are the fire stations that can give you a free case, according to the latest information at 8 p.m. Monday.
- Station 11 – 165 16th St. – Atlantic Station
- Station 15 – 170 10th St. – Midtown
At about 4 p.m. Sunday, the Atlanta Watershed Management social media accounts said that out of an abundance of caution and in accordance with Georgia EPD guidance, the boil water advisory is still in effect for residents and businesses in the impacted areas.
Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens told residents that water service had been restored to many of the residences, businesses, and hydrants in the surrounding area where two water main breaks occurred a day earlier.
“We understand the urgency of this situation and are working tirelessly to provide accurate and timely updates. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we navigate through this challenge together,” the agency said.
Watershed also reported that the six-inch water main near the intersection of Euclid Ave. NE & North Avenue has been turned on after the emergency repairs were completed. NE. Water service has been restored to 35 homes and four hydrants, the agency said.
Also at 9:30 p.m. Saturday, the Department of Watershed Management said that the Atlanta boil water advisory would stay in effect and that it would continue to follow its flushing protocols to ensure that there is no contamination.
At 7 p.m., on Saturday, the City of Atlanta announced that the water main break repair was complete.
“Crews have completed multiple rounds of repairs on the aging pipe at the junction of Joseph E. Boone Blvd. and J.P. Brawley Dr.,” the city posted. “The system is gradually being brought back online to allow for the rebuilding of system pressures.”
In this article, you’ll find a boil water advisory map, Atlanta fire stations who have cases of free water available and what the City is doing to get the water back to normal.
When Will the Atlanta Boil Water Advisory Be Lifted?
As for the boil water advisory, the City said that the Georgia Environmental Protection Division would advise the Department of Watershed Management when to lift it.
”Crews have completed multiple repairs on the aging pipe at Joseph E. Boone Blvd. and J.P. Brawley Dr.,” Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens posted. “The system is gradually being brought back online to rebuild pressures. The boil water advisory remains in effect as a precaution per Georgia EPD guidance.”
The good news came one day after Dickens was criticized for being a no-show as the face of the city, when the water issues began.
Dickens told addressed residents about midday Saturday, telling them that there was no definitive time when the water issues will be resolved.
Several businesses across Atlanta were either without water or low on it after two major water main breaks — Joseph E. Boone Blvd. and James P. Brawley Dr. and W. Peachtree St. and 11th St. — crippled parts of the area on Friday.
Dickens apologized to city residents, promising them that watershed management employees were working “as fast as they can and as carefully as they can” to solve the water issues.
“I will be candid. Overnight we did not do the best job of communicating. We could’ve done a better job over the past day and for that, I apologize,” Dickens said.
The first water main break happened around 10 a.m. on Friday, but the city didn’t tell residents about it until around 5 p.m.
The City announced fire stations that had free cases of water on Saturday at 4:30 p.m.
“Attention Residents: Station 10 is currently out of water,” the city said. “Affected residents can still pick up water at the following fire stations. One case per resident, the City said.
- Station 1: 71 Elliot St
- Station 2: 1568 Jonesboro Rd
- Station 16: 1048 Joseph E Boone Blvd
Boil Water Advisory Issued Across Atlanta
As a result of the water issues, the city issued a boil water advisory, which means that residents are cautioned that they should use bottled water or boil tap water. This is because a boil water advisory means your community’s water has, or could have, germs that can make you sick.
Advisories may include information about preparing food, drinks, or ice; dishwashing; and hygiene, such as brushing teeth and bathing. Boil water advisories usually include this advice:
- Use bottled or boiled water for drinking, and to prepare and cook food.
- If bottled water is not available, bring water to a full rolling boil for 1 minute (at elevations above 6,500 feet, boil for 3 minutes). After boiling, allow the water to cool before use.
- Boil tap water even if it is filtered (for example, by a home water filter or a pitcher that filters water).
- Do not use water from any appliance connected to your water line, such as ice and water from a refrigerator.
- Breastfeeding is the best infant feeding option. If you formula feed your child, provide ready-to-use formula, if possible.

Atlanta Events Postponed
Several big events, including concerts from Houston artist Megan Thee Stallion had to be canceled on Friday and Saturday’s show was in the balance as well.
“Unfortunately, we will need to reschedule tonight’s show at State Farm Arena due to the massive water main break that The City of Atlanta is experiencing,” Megan told her fans.
“I’m extremely disappointed because I had a huge surprise for the Hotties tonight, but we will follow the Mayor’s protocol. Tonight’s show is rescheduled for THIS SUNDAY June 2nd,2024. We will still move forward with tomorrows show, Praying for the people who lost access to water due to this situation,” Megan said.

One of the easiest ways to increase your home’s curb appeal in Atlanta and raise its resale value is by adding a fresh coat of paint. What paint colors are best this year?
Before we show you the best colors, it’s always a good idea to test colors with samples on the actual walls. This helps you see how the color looks in different lights and with the room’s decor before committing to a full paint job.
What Color Should I Paint My House in 2024?
When it comes to the most popular exterior colors for homes in 2024, some hues that stand out now are those with neutral tones. Some examples of this are Alpine White, Fawn Brindle and Soft Gray.
There’s also strong demand for bold colors in the blue, green and orange family, which can be seen in this year’s fashion collections as well. Think terracotta, clay tones and trendy olives.
Some popular colors for painting your house in 2024 include neutral tones, nature-inspired colors, off-whites and darker shades:
Off-Whites

Off-white tones offer a softer visual for walls and homes this year. The versatility is compatible with several architectural styles and structures.
White exteriors can complement various architectural styles and color schemes. This versatility allows homeowners to easily update their home’s look with different accent colors or landscaping choices.
Get the Benjamin Moore Fan Deck to see the latest colors.

Neutral Tones

The trend towards neutral tones is partly driven by popular home renovation shows and social media platforms like Pinterest and Instagram, where homeowners are inspired by modern, sleek designs.
Nuetral interiors and exteriors can complement various architectural styles and color schemes. This versatility allows homeowners to easily update their home’s look with different accent colors or landscaping choices.
Check out the Sherwin-Williams Fan Deck to see their latest colors.

Nature-Inspired Tones

Neutral tones can help highlight the architectural features of a home. Instead of the color of the walls dominating the space, the attention can be drawn to the home’s design elements, such as moldings, fireplaces, or unique layouts
With a neutral backdrop, homeowners can easily change their decor without needing to repaint or make significant changes. This flexibility allows for seasonal updates and personal touches without a major renovation.
Darker Shades

With tones like Cracked Pepper, real estate has officially entered a “dark” era as well. Darker walls can serve as an excellent backdrop for showcasing artwork and decorative pieces. The deep hues can make colors pop and draw attention to the details of the decor.
Dark colors can add depth to a room, making it feel more dimensional and layered. This effect can be particularly beneficial in larger spaces, where it helps to create a more engaging and dynamic environment.
Final Word
While it can be tempting to follow current color trends, it’s important to consider how long you plan to keep the color. Timeless colors tend to remain appealing over the long term, while trendy colors may quickly feel outdated.
The quality of the paint can affect the final appearance and longevity of the color. Higher-quality paints often provide better coverage, durability, and resistance to fading.
Overall, the importance of picking the right color for your exterior and interior walls lies in the impact it has on aesthetics, mood, functionality, and property value.

Brown Toy Box, an Atlanta-based innovative educational toy company focused on fostering diversity and inclusion in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) fields, recently released the interactive game Maya’s Virtual Adventure.
The educational game, powered by Microsoft MakeCode, went live on May 1, 2024 and was developed in collaboration with Microsoft for Nonprofits program Nonprofit Tech Acceleration (NTA).
In an AtlantaFi.com interview, Brown Toy Box owner Terri Nichelle-Bradley says her inspiration came from her formative years in Minnesota. “From my mother ensuring all of her children had positive representation around us all of the time as a child.” She said, the idea came from “wanting my black children to know about black trailblazers and innovators beyond the context of slavery or the civil rights movement.”
Brown Toy Box toys, games, and experiences emphasize early and recurring exposure to STEAM in a culturally relevant manner. Although Black individuals represent 14% of the population, they account for less than 5% of game developers, despite being significant consumers of the $160 billion gaming industry. This collaboration aims to inspire Black children to aspire to grow from consumers to creators in the gaming world.
“By blending representation in gaming with STEAM education, we aim to increase positive images of Black children while inspiring them to develop and explore their interests in coding and game development,” said Terri-Nichelle Bradley, Founder and CEO of Brown Toy Box and chair of Brown Toy Box Foundation.
“Maya’s Virtual Adventure takes children on an immersive learning journey, exploring coding and game development possibilities as they assist Maya in navigating a vibrant virtual world,” Bradley added.
The game features an innovative curriculum introducing young learners to coding concepts in a fun, interactive way. The game provides children with an immersive experience, allowing them to take on challenges, learn simple block -based coding, while unlocking creativity and problem-solving skills.
“Through our collaboration with Brown Toy Box, we’re thrilled to launch Maya’s Virtual Adventure, which will open the door to STEAM education for many young learners,” said Darrell Booker, Executive at Microsoft Nonprofit Tech Accelerator. “By integrating our technology and expertise with Brown Toy Box’s tactile educational play-based learning approach, we aim to inspire a new generation of Black innovators and creators in the tech space,” said Booker.
Maya’s Virtual Adventure introduces Maya, one of the characters from Brown Toy Box’s Dadisi Academy Crew, who represent 15 different STEAM themes. Maya represents coding and game development, guiding children through an exciting quest in a vibrant virtual world.
While anyone can download Maya’s Virtual Adventure, Brown Toy Box and Microsoft NTA is intentional about ensuring the game gets deployed to nonprofits serving children, providing them with an innovative tool to engage young learners and nurture their interest in STEAM. By using the game’s curriculum, families, educators, and community leaders can offer a unique learning experience that celebrates diversity and encourages inclusivity in the world of technology.
Maya’s Virtual Adventure is the first of several MakeCode games being developed in this collaboration, offering a series of educational experiences for children to expand their interest and skills in coding. To access and register for the game visit Maya’s Virtual Adventure here.

Megan Thee Stallion’s Hot Girl Summer tour was supposed to twerk into the Atlanta week, but the city’s water issues caused some scheduling problems for the “Wap” rapper.

Megan Thee Stallion was set to perform in Atlanta on June 2 at State Farm Arena. She ended up having a Sunday show after all .
Atlanta was one of the shows that Live Nation added to The “Hot Girl Summer Tour,” which now includes 33 dates across North America and Europe.
Megan formally announced the tour on March 20, which marked her first-ever, headlining tour in arenas across the globe and will feature a special Chicas Divertidas VIP section. As part of the announcement, she also shared that GloRilla – who has delivered award-winning hits such as “Tomorrow 2 (feat Cardi B),” “FNF” and “Yeah Glo!,” – would join her on the domestic leg of the “Hot Girl Summer Tour.”
The tour comes after her latest song “HISS” debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in February. “HISS” also became the first-ever, solo female rap song to debut No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200 and, as a result, Megan now owns the record for the biggest first week for a solo female rap song in history.
The achievement signified Megan’s third No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, following her other chart-topping hits such as “Savage (Remix)” with Beyoncé and “WAP” with Cardi B. The song was Megan’s second solo release via Hot Girl Productions – her independent music and entertainment entity.
It’s the latest in a series of trailblazing milestones for Megan in 2024. Most recently, Planned Parenthood announced plans to honor Megan with the organization’s Catalyst for Change Award at its annual gala in New York City on April 16.

A new report from Givex, a cloud-based customer and business insights platform, offering a detailed look into evolving consumer behaviors as food prices at restaurants across the nation continue to push upward.
More Restaurant Guests Say Eating Out a Challenge
The Givex 2024 Restaurant and Dining Trends Survey draws from responses of over 1,000 Americans, examining the impact of inflation on American dining preferences and habits.
Some key findings:
- A notable 78% of Americans agree that higher menu prices have made dining out more challenging over the past year.
- According to the survey, 86% of Americans cite promotions as a major incentive to dine out, closely followed by coupons and discounts at 81%.
- Additionally, 65% of respondents find value in loyalty programs, and nearly half (47%) are attracted to Happy Hour deals.
So what does all this mean for the modern restaurant consumer? It means that 41% of respondents are dining out less frequently, while 45% have reduced their food delivery orders compared to last year. Meanwhile, 60% report cooking more at home.
How To Save Money When You Eat Out
Here’s how you can save some money when eating out at a restaurant:
Use Coupons
If you receive mailers to your house or apartment with coupons in them, use them. Many restaurants offer BOGO deals or Kids Eat Free deals in coupons sent to your place of residence.
Join Loyalty Programs
Sign up and save by joining a restaurant loyalty program. Nearly half of all Americans prioritize grocery loyalty programs, with 49% rating them as most important, according to the survey. Overall, 87% of Americans participate in at least one loyalty program.
Opt for Leftovers
Many times at a restaurant, you’ll be served portion sizes that are way more food than you actually need or want. Why not treat the surplus as an additional meal that you can have later on? Creating leftovers from your restaurant meal is a great way to get more value out of dining out.
