SWAC / MEAC Challenge 2018: Prairie View Vs. NCUU: Time, Date, Info

Georgia State Stadium will be rocking the first weekend in September as two of the best teams in black college football square off for an early-season test.

The 2018 MEAC/SWAC Challenge takes place Sunday, Sept. 2, 2018 between Prairie View A&M University and North Carolina Central University.

Both teams have had solid seasons the past few years, posting a 41-10 combined record since 2015.

Both teams will have new coaches – Eric Dooley  has taken the reins at Prairie View A&M after a stint as offensive coordinator at Grambling State University. Meanwhile Granville Eastman heads North Carolina Central after being promoted from defensive coordinator.

The Battle on the Bluff featuring the Prairie View A&M Marching Storm and North Carolina Central Sound Machine will be at 1:30 p.m. CT.

Welcome Reception
Saturday, September 3 at 12 PM
Daytona International Speedway

The 2016 Welcome Reception will be held at Daytona International Speedway on Saturday, September 3. Hosted by ESPN’s Tiffany Greene, the event will highlight the successes of both the Alcorn State Braves and Bethune-Cookman Wildcats. ESPN SportsCenter anchor Jay Harris will deliver the keynote speech, offering words of advice to all of the student-athletes in attendance. In addition, the six Walter Payton Achievement Award nominees will be honored, culminating with the announcement of the winners. Jarrett Payton, Walter Payton’s brother, will be on hand to present the award.

Parking: $10 per vehicle advanced parking

Parking at Georgia State Stadium is festival style, first-come-first-served in each lot. Handicap parking is available in the Green Lot on a first-come-first-served basis. Please be advised handicap parking spaces are limited. A state issued placard or license plate and a parking pass are required for entry. Passes are currently available for the Green lot only.

Online parking sales close on Saturday, September 1 at 11:59 p.m.

Tailgating and tents are allowed if done in front of or behind your vehicle. You may not take up another parking space. Click here for a full list of Georgia State’s tailgating policies.
