ATLANTA — Did you know there are more races in Atlanta besides the Peachtree Road Race? The Spark 5K will light up Piedmont Park once again on Thursday, April 30 at 6:30 p.m. ET, marking its fourth year as one of Atlanta’s most spirited and purpose-driven evening events.

More than just a race, the Spark 5K blends fun, fitness, and friendly competition to support two local nonprofits making a tangible difference: The Kyle Pease Foundation and Malcolm Mitchell’s Share the Magic Foundation.

Spark 5K: Fourth Annual Celebration of Community and Inclusion

Over the past three years, the event has steadily grown in both participation and fundraising impact, drawing runners, walkers, in-chair athletes, corporate teams, and community supporters from across the Atlanta area.

The inclusive course winds through the scenic beauty of Piedmont Park, welcoming participants of all abilities.

Whether you’re chasing a personal record, strolling with friends, pushing a stroller, racing in a wheelchair, or simply cheering from the sidelines, the Spark 5K is designed to be accessible and enjoyable for everyone.

Corporate Challenge Adds Energy and Team Spirit

A highlight of the evening continues to be the dynamic corporate challenge, which encourages Atlanta businesses of all sizes to register teams, step outside the office, and compete for awards honoring the most spirited, creative, and engaged groups.

Spark 5K registration for companies can be done at Spark5K.com and use the event as an opportunity to build camaraderie while contributing to meaningful community causes.

Honoring the Mission: Two Powerful Nonprofits

The Kyle Pease Foundation champions inclusion in sports and daily life for individuals with disabilities, ensuring in-chair athletes have equal opportunities to compete and thrive.

Share the Magic Foundation, founded by former NFL player Malcolm Mitchell, focuses on literacy initiatives that bring joy, books, and educational empowerment to children facing adversity.

“The Spark 5K represents everything our foundation believes in — inclusion, teamwork, perseverance, and the power of community,” said Kyle Pease, Co-Founder and Director of Inclusion at The Kyle Pease Foundation. “We’re excited to be part of this annual event yet again, and seeing our athletes, corporate teams, families and friends is incredibly powerful. It truly shows how much stronger our community becomes when we rally for a shared purpose.”

Malcolm Mitchell, Founder and CEO of Share the Magic Foundation, echoed that sentiment: “The Spark 5K continues to be a powerful reminder of what’s possible when a community comes together with purpose.”

A Night to Remember

Local celebrities and athletes will be on hand to celebrate, including Atlanta natives Kyle Pease and Malcolm Mitchell, former University of Georgia quarterback Aaron Murray, and other prominent figures from the sports and business communities.

All registered participants will receive a commemorative Spark 5K branded tee and enjoy post-race refreshments.

Standout individuals and top corporate teams will be recognized with awards, while food from McAlister’s Deli and Dave’s Hot Chicken will await runners at the finish line.
