Quavo Drops ‘Backwards’ Video With T.I. Ahead of QRÖMELIFE

Atlanta rapper Quavo is back with another banger. He just released the official music video for “Backwards,” his Pharrell Williams-produced single featuring T.I., on Friday. The clip arrives as a key preview of his upcoming album QRÖMELIFE, scheduled for October 2.

The track pairs two generations of Atlanta rap. Quavo represents the Migos-era sound that helped define the city’s 2010s trap wave, while T.I. remains one of the earlier architects of Atlanta’s mainstream rise.

Lyrics lean into hometown pride, name-checking ATL throughout and mixing trap imagery with club energy.

The video, directed by Supo Supreme and executive produced by Daps, plays on the song’s title with reverse motion, multiplying figures, and dancers moving across floors and ceilings. Quavo and T.I. appear together in front of a large Atlanta-inspired flag, with bold outfits, high-energy choreography, and club-style lighting.

Quavo first performed the song live last week at WWE’s Sunday Night Main Event in Atlanta. Fan reactions highlighted his continued sharpness on stage, with comments including “He still fucking got it man wtf.”

“Backwards” follows earlier QRÖMELIFE previews “Haavin” and “Trance (Walk It Down),” both also produced by Pharrell, who is executive producing the full project. The album will be Quavo’s first solo studio release since 2023’s Rocket Power and is slated to arrive via Quality Control and Motown.

The single and video keep the focus on Atlanta identity while signaling the polished, high-concept direction of the new album. QRÖMELIFE drops October 2.
