Popular grocery store Publix has adopted new hours along with “Senior Hours” in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic. but the retailer has adjusted them closer to normal operations.

What Time Does Publix Open?

Publix in Atlanta, Georgia opens at 7 a.m.  This is a change from what the operating hours were when the pandemic first began.

What Time Does Publix Close?

Publix now closes at 10 p.m. in Atlanta, Georgia. This also applies to store locations across the state.

If you remember, Publix changed its hours to accommodate the national lockdown announced in April 2020:

 “To better serve our customers, give our store teams time to conduct additional preventive sanitation and restock product on shelves, beginning Saturday, March 14, Publix Super Markets will adjust store and pharmacy hours companywide to close at 8 p.m. nightly until further notice,” the company said at the time.

The retailer also closed earlier to restock shelves as well as give their staffs some time to rest.

Publix has said that its routine cleaning and sanitation standards were already on par with guidelines established by the Atlanta-based Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

“Additionally, we’ve put in place a heightened disinfection response program. We’ve also suspended food demonstrations in our stores until further notice,” the company said.

Does Publix Still Have Senior Hours?

Like many retailers, Publix had adopted Senior Hours to help older ones do their shopping without competition from the general public. But the store ended designated Senior Hours after several months and resume normal operating hours for all shoppers.
