Metro Atlanta has grown by leaps and bounds over the past year, adding tens of thousands of people to the region’s population.

The region now has 5.16 million people, the most ever, according to new data released on Wednesday, August 9, 2023. The areas with the fastest growth area:

“People are moving here for one simple reason: jobs are plentiful,” Mike Carnathan, ARC’s managing director of Research & Analytics, says in the report. “The Atlanta region continues to be an attractive place for businesses to set up shop or expand. It’s a testament to our well-educated population and strong business climate.”
