When you go to Google’s homepage you may soon see the artwork of a Marietta, Georgia teenager if things work out as planned. Pope High School freshman Helena Soriano recently won Georgia’s annual Doodle 4 Google competition, which is open to K-12 students across America.

Pope High School Teen Wins Google Art Competition

The contest gives students the task of redesigning the Google logo using the theme: “What Inspires Me?”

Soriano is one of the 53 state winners and competition finalists. Her doodle, “Wildlife Wonders” depicts wild animals in their natural habitats.

She will now go up against other state winners around the nation. If she moves on, she’ll get a $30,000 college scholarship. Pope High School will receive a $50,000 Google for Education grant toward computer lab or technology program improvements.

When the winner is announced on June 8, the artist’s doodle will go live on Google.com that day.
