Kidchella Coming To Atlanta’s Children’s Museum

Children’s Museum of Atlanta is inviting kids to its first Kidchella, inspired by popular music festival Coachella.

The event is taking place on Saturday, April 26 from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.

This high-energy event promises nonstop fun with interactive activities, creative expression and lively music.

What Can Kids Do at Kidchella?

Kids can choose from various temporary tattoo options at the art studio, design a flower crown to wear as they strut the red carpet, engineer kazoos, dance to a DJ’s beats and more.

At 6:15 p.m., Ask Deer Abby, featuring Abby the Deer and Hopper the Rabbit, will take the stage for a performance of family-favorite songs.

Those craving a gentle sensory environment can visit the Recalibration Station. Festival fashion is encouraged for little ones and their caretakers as they will snap Instagram-worthy photos at themed selfie stations to create lasting memories and experience an unforgettable evening of music, art and play!

Kid-Friendly Atlanta: Where To Go

Looking for fun things for kids to do In Atlanta? The city is packed with fun, family-friendly activities that kids will love! Here are some cool options based on what’s popular and unique about the city:

Georgia Aquarium: One of the largest aquariums in the world, it’s a hit with kids thanks to its massive tanks, whale sharks, beluga whales, and interactive touch pools. The Ocean Voyager exhibit, with its giant underwater tunnel, feels like stepping into the sea.

Zoo Atlanta: Located in Grant Park, this zoo lets kids get up close with pandas, giraffes (you can even feed them!), and elephants. The petting zoo and playground add extra fun for younger ones.

Tee Johnson: Tee Johnson is the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of AtlantaFi.com, Atlanta’s independent hyper-local publication focused on news, restaurants, events, jobs, neighborhoods, and lifestyle. A 15+ year Atlanta resident and longtime journalist and content creator, she covers Travel News, Events, Business, Hair Care, and Money with a practical, Atlanta-first lens. Before launching the site, Johnson worked as a substitute teacher in Atlanta Public Schools and later in corporate roles at Home Depot’s Vinings offices. A marketer by training with a degree in business management, she grew frustrated with the fragmented, hard-to-find information about what was actually happening in the city. That gap led her to create AtlantaFi as a curated, one-stop resource for the pulse of Atlanta—#ATLHAPS—without the national noise. Editorial decisions remain independent; the publication does not accept products, meals, or services in exchange for coverage. As Editor-in-Chief, she oversees original local reporting and curated practical guides that help residents, visitors, and businesses discover and engage with the city. Readers turn to her work for timely event roundups, dining and neighborhood insights, business and travel updates, and straightforward money and lifestyle coverage grounded in firsthand observation of Atlanta. A devoted lover of all things Atlanta, Tee enjoys pickleball, a good margarita or bourbon, and walking the Atlanta Beltline.
