Grocery Store-Style Pop-Up Happening in East Point
Gas South is partnering with the Atlanta Community Food Bank to stock the temporary market for at least 250 families. Supplies will include 10,000 pounds of produce and an additional $20,000 worth of supplemental groceries. Shoppers will move through the setup as they would a conventional grocery store, choosing items rather than receiving pre-packed boxes.
The pop-up is intended to expand access to fresh food and basic household goods for local families. Organizers say the grocery-style format is meant to offer more choice and a more familiar shopping experience than a traditional distribution line.
The Atlanta Community Food Bank, which works with partner agencies across metro Atlanta, is coordinating the food and related supplies for the event. Gas South is providing the partnership and support for the one-day market.
