Atlanta is going to be well represented musically for the Super Bowl: Rap acts such as Ludacris, Migos, Lil Yachty, Metro Boomin and Lil Baby will all perform at State Farm Arena in Atlanta on Jan. 31, 2019, Electronic Arts Inc. and OnLocation Experiences announced Monday.
Super Bowl 53, which will take place on Sunday, Feb. 3, 2019 is shaping up to be the most anticipated event in Atlanta this century. Nearly 70,000 people will be expected to pack Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
The EA Sports Bowl musical performances connected to the Atlanta Super Bowl will take place as part of the three-day Bud Light Super Bowl Music Fest,.
The Atlanta Super Bowl is looking for thousands of volunteers to help game-goers and visitors that weekend. Atlanta schools will also play a part.
Local public and private schools are invited to participate in a Super Bowl project that puts books, sports equipment and school supplies into the hands of students in need.
The project, called Super Kids-Super Sharing started in Atlanta in 2000 and celebrates its 20thanniversary in Atlanta in 2019. This popular community initiative is implemented in every Super Bowl host community and over the years has collected hundreds of thousands of books, pieces of sports equipment and school supplies to help local children.

For Memorial day, the Atlanta Jazz Festival bookends the season and welcomes summertime, where several events take center stage. The Great Southern Beer Festival, Piedmont Park Arts Fest and ATL Peach Fest concludes July.

When you think of airport food, overpriced blah-blah offerings may come to mind, but the Taste of Hartsfield-Jackson, a culinary affair slated for Thursday, Nov. 8, 2018, aims to change that.
The Taste of Hartsfield will take place in the Domestic Terminal Atrium from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Guests can expect to find numerous vendors serving everything from crab legs to all types of Southern fare. To set the vibe, local band Gritz & Jelly Butter will provide the sounds.
Taste of Hartsfield: How much does it cost?
$15 for 10 tickets, 1 ticket per taste. $12 for airport employees. Airport employees must show their employee ID when collecting their tickets at the event.

There are many great relationships to look up to in Atlanta, but the city’s first couple is Gucci Mane and Keyshia Ka’oir: The Wopsters.
Photo credit: Instagram If you’ve been keeping up with entertainment, you know that Atlanta, East Atlanta, specifically, has its own Brad and Angelina. Only this couple features a successful entrepreneur, Keyshia Ka’oir, and famous rapper Gucci Mane.
The Wopsters welcome baby Ice Davis to the world and Atlanta.
The couple made it official on Tuesday Oct. 17, 2017 in a televised affair at the Four Seasons Hotel in Miami, Florida.
Photo credit: Instagram Ka’ oir sells multiple products under her beauty line, including the Ka’oir Waist Eraser, which she credits for helping her slim down while maintaining her curves.
While Ka’oir’s business saavy is considerable, she’s been getting major props for maintaining the clean-living which has allowed Gucci Mane to stay svelte after losing 50 pounds in prison.
Jailed on a parole violation, Gucci Mane — real name Radric Davis — was supposed to serve 39 months, with a release date of March 2017. But he shocked fans last year when the much-thinner rapper debuted in Snapchat videos at his mansion he shares with Ka’oir.
Speaking to The Fader magazine, Ka’oir said that his social media debut was strategic, and everything happened the way she planned.
“When we got to Atlanta, we got off the plane on the runway and we had a private service that took us to our home. Then when we got home, that’s when I started posting on Snapchat. That was all my plan,” she was quoted as saying.
The couple can be seen at various Atlanta events, from Atlanta Hawks basketball games to private parties. Are they Atlanta’s first couple?

The Atlanta City Council has approved The Gulch redevelopment project, which aims to transform a 40-acre abandoned area with a railroad track in the middle of it into a multimillion dollar mixed-use community.
At turns divisive and controversial, The Gulch project symbolized a struggle between two Atlantas, one that wants to hurl the city into a 21st century masterpiece of urban planning and technology and the other, which wants to nudge itself along, paying proper homage to its history and heritage along the way.

The chatter around The Gulch project proves that either side is willing to give much ground.
Laden inside the deal, city officials secured a $28 million affordable housing trust fund which will ensure that future dwellings will not be out of reach of people making the living wage.
Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms lauded the council’s affirmative vote, saying that she was thankful to those who “have worked tirelessly over several months to bring this historic redevelopment plan- the single largest development in our city in nearly 50 years- to fruition.”
“We have established a new model for leveraging land development to achieve both economic growth and community good. Never in the history of our city has a single development deal been negotiated in a way that will have such far-reaching, generational impact,” she said in a written statement.
via city of Atlanta The project would see Norfolk Southern, a Virginia-based railroad company, move its headquarters to Atlanta, taking hundreds of jobs from the northern state. Atlanta on the other hand, stands to gain 25,000 jobs in the overall project, according to figures provided by the city.
“The Gulch redevelopment will not only physically bridge the gap between the east and westsides of Atlanta, bringing economic vitality to a long-undeveloped part of downtown, but also affordable housing, workforce training, enhanced public safety, and job opportunities throughout the city,” said Mayor Bottoms. “I am grateful for the approval by the Atlanta City Council and look forward to continuing to work with them to ensure that as our city grows and prospers, our communities are not left behind.”
Among the naysayers were those who said that the council didn’t do enough to facilitate public discussion. Others said the project amounted to little more than a sweetheart deal for CIM, the development company making grandiose promises.

A former NBA wife, who once sported high heels and money as the source of her power and self-esteem, offers readers a beautiful garment of praise to God who faithfully raised her from the ashes of a failed life in center court.

Throughout the book, Funches administers biblical comfort to the frustrated, confused and those readers who question God’s love and ability to set them free, like she once did. “My friend, the truth is that I know hardships all too well, and have become acquainted with the process and pains of letting God finish. I know well the weight of waiting on the promise of God to manifest. I have danced with despair, entertained doubt, and confessed with tear-filled eyes ‘I give up!‘” she admits.
“God used the lives of many men and women throughout the Bible to reveal His heart and His ways to me so I wouldn’t be burdened. All of these people’s lives are good examples, but the greatest is the example of the life of God Himself as He walked it out here on the earth as Jesus,” Funches says. “Then He began to minister to me about my own life, and had me look back over times when I let Him finish and the rewards I received for doing so. I know it will help transform and equip you to attain all that God has promised.”
She also discusses the healing she experienced from God after suffering from years of abuse. “I am healed! My mind, emotions, heart, and soul have been healed from years of abuse from someone I loved deeply. God gave me beauty for those ashes, healed my heart, and even blessed me to love again!” Funches concludes.
Funches briefly mentions her heated, decade-long public breakup with who used to be one of professional sport’s most celebrated athletes in You Gotta Let God Finish as a testimony of God’s faithfulness.
