Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has been going gangbusters at the box office since its opened in November 2022. The movie surpassed the $840 million mark over the past few days.
After more than a week in theaters, the Atlanta-filmed movie has raked in nearly $500 million domestically and another $350 million outside the U.S.

Given its strong debut, industry insiders expect Wakanda Forever to track closely with the first Black Panther movie, which took in $202 million during its opening weekend.
For the year, Marvel Studios has contributed mightily to Disney’s box office reign, but Wakanda Forever has a chance to beat them all. Here are the top grossing films for 2022.

Where Was Black Panther: Wakanda Forever Filmed?
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever was filmed in various parts of the United States and Puerto Rico. Major production was done just outside Atlanta at Trilith Studios, as well as around Georgia, including in Brunswick at the Mary Ross Waterfront Park. Just like the first Black Panther film, Tyler Perry Studios was also used for some key scenes.
In addition to Atlanta and the Vulcan Materials quarry in Stockbridge, Georgia, some landscapes in Massachusetts also appeared in the film.
Who Is The Breakout Star Of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever?
Critics aside, it’s pretty evident that Tenoch Huerta’s turn as Namor stole the show. On the publicity tour for the movie, Huerta, who is from Ecatepec de Morelos, State of Mexico, has made a point to remind people that Namor is not a symbol of Latino representation, but rather, Mexico’s indigenous population. In fact, in the film, Namor describes himself as a Mayan.
