Among the many things to do in Atlanta this summer is to enjoy a public pool to cool off.

The city’s Department of Parks & Recreation has been working hard to maintain the pools for Atlantans to enjoy. Are you ready to make a splash?

Are Atlanta’s Public Pools Open?

Atlanta always opens its pools on Memorial Day, so you can be rest assured that they are open. The good news is that most of these pools are free., but not all of them. Before you go, please call the pool at the number provided to make sure.

Many of the pools listed below may have memberships; that doesn’t mean you can’t swim if you’re not a member. It just means you’ll typically have to pay a fee.

All City of Atlanta Public Pools are mandated to charge a consistent entry fee, which is set by the Parks & Rec Department each season.

Are you trying to beat the heat this summer? There are few things as refreshing as a nice swim in the pool. The good news is that Atlanta’s public pools are open for business!

If your kid loves the water, they will enjoy these public pools around Atlanta. The ones we list are well kept and accessible for the whole family.  They have lifeguards actively surveying the waters and keeping things controlled.

  • It is NOT true that “Atlanta pools are free”. I just spoke with manager John King at Chastain Park pool and everyone must pay a fee (usually $5) to swim there.
