Atlanta, GA – June 24, 2026 — The FIFA Fan Festival in Atlanta has rolled out a new crowd-management policy for its highly popular free custom Bank of America (BofA) Fan Bands, effective immediately.
The Fan Festival announced the changes on Wednesday, sharing four informational graphics that detail the updated process for obtaining the collectible bracelets.
Bank of America Fan Bands: Why the Change?
The BofA Fan Bands have become a viral sensation among fans. These free, customizable beaded bracelets feature a black or colored braided cord with interchangeable enamel charms, including the iconic FIFA World Cup trophy, soccer motifs, goalkeeper gloves, butterflies, and Atlanta-specific designs (such as peaches and “ATL” elements).
Bank of America plans to distribute 2 million bands and 10 million charms across the 11 U.S. host cities’ Fan Festivals and Fan Zones. High demand led to long lines and multi-hour waits in Atlanta in recent days, prompting the new timed-entry system to improve the experience for everyone.
How the New Bank of America Fan Band System Works
- Wristband Distribution (Before Gates Open)
Paper wristbands are now handed out to fans waiting in line at each entry gate before the FIFA Fan Festival™ Atlanta doors open. - One-Hour Time Slots
Each paper wristband corresponds to a specific one-hour time slot. - Visit During Your Slot
Once inside the festival, fans can head to the Bank of America activation any time during their assigned slot to build or pick up their custom Fan Band. The activation also features a digital photo booth where fans can capture the moment—the photo is sent directly to their phone.
The custom bands are available daily during the Fan Festival (located at Centennial Olympic Park), with additional stock and charms arriving soon.
Limited customization options may also be available at other locations, such as inside Mercedes-Benz Stadium or select Bank of America branches, but the full personalized experience is centered at the Fan Festival activation.
Early responses to the announcement have been largely positive, with fans appreciating the reduced wait times and clearer process. The system helps prevent overcrowding at the popular activation while still allowing everyone a fair chance to create their own World Cup keepsake.
The FIFA Fan Festival itself offers free entry with big-screen match viewings, live entertainment, food and beverage options, and family-friendly activities—making the new wristband process just one part of an enhanced overall experience.
Fans are advised to arrive early to secure a wristband and enjoy the full day at the festival.
