Atlanta’s T.I. Says He Won’t Support NFL, Falcons This Year

If you’re an Atlanta fan, you know that rapper T.I. is one of the home team’s biggest supporters. Yet this past weekend, the “Family Hustle” artist made this thoughts plan about supporting the Falcons and by extension the National Football League.

During a discussion at an event associated with the BET Awards, T.I. told sports journalist Jemele Hill that he won’t be riding with the Falcons this year – at least his dollars won’t.

On Monday, he tweeted: “Blacks in America spend $1.2 Trillion a yr,with the least participation or consideration to our needs. If WE make a conscious decision not to spend with a corporation. They MUST attend to our concerns. THATS OUR SUPER POWER!!!- Ye voice.”

Much has been made about how the NFL has been blackballing one of its most recognizable players for taking a knee on the sidelines during the national anthem. That controversy has spilled off the field as advertisers have threatened to leave the NFL and team owners have introduced penalties.

With the NFL season less than 90 days away, we want to hear from you. What do you think?
