“Thank you to all who sent helpful info to assist with our bars and restaurants. I’ve signed an Executive Order that will allow them to serve alcohol during this Take-Out only period,” she tweeted Friday.
The order allows the authorities to “refrain from any actions prohibiting the enforcement of any prohibitions against the sale of unopened wine and/or malt beverages by the package for off premise consumption by restaurants and other eating or drinking establishments.”
On Wednesday, Lance Bottoms signed an executive order limiting Atlanta restaurants from dine-in operations. The decree also shut down bars and gyms to curtail COVID-19.
“I have signed an Executive Order, effective at midnight, limiting restaurants to take out service, closing bars, gyms, etc.” Lance Bottoms tweeted. “The fate of cities across the globe will be upon soon if we do not follow recommendations on ways to slow the spread of the Coronavirus.”
Atlanta, like much of the world, has been irreparably affected by COVID-19. But there are people out there still helping.
