We’ve been telling about the many casting calls of the “Superfly” reboot in Atlanta. Now, the movie’s first trailer has been released.

The film, which has rapper Future Hendrix behind it, is based on the 1972 crime drama directed by celebrity photographer and filmmaker Gordon Parks and featured Ron O’Neal in the title role.

Sony has bumped up the film’s release date to June 2018, significantly picking up the pace on production. That means things are happening quickly. Atlanta rapper Future has reportedly sign on to co-produce.
