Mercedes-Benz Stadium in downtown Atlanta is set to once again come alive as the city’s professional soccer club, Atlanta United, makes their season debut.
The squad lost last week but now they will D.C. United in front of their fans. More than 70,000 are expected to pack Merc-Benz. Atlanta players are looking forward to getting back in front of the home fans and giving them something to cheer for.
“We miss that atmosphere,” captain Michael Parkhurst told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “It’s such an awesome thing to play in front of. It’s amazing. It’s just really an energy boost. You can feel the passion. You can feel the love.
