You ever been shopping online and came across an item that you wanted quick, fast and a hurry? Like, in an “Instant?” Well, Amazon announced earlier this year that will set up “Instant Pickup” at five locations around the United States, including Atlanta.
The announcement by the Seattle-based tech giant essentially means next-day and one-hour delivery is yesterday’s news: The new service will be facilitate two-minute delivery for Prime and Prime Student members.
The service lets shoppers purchase items via the Amazon app and then pick them up at a nearby storage locker. The initial five-city launch includes Los Angeles; Berkeley, California; Columbus, Ohio; Atlanta and College Park, Maryland. More cities will be rolled out later, the company said.
“As shopping behaviors continue to evolve, customers consistently tell us that they want items even faster.” Student Programs Director Ripley MacDonald said in a press release. “Whether it’s a snack on-the-go, replacing a lost phone charger in the middle of a hectic day or adding Alexa to your life with an Echo, Instant Pickup saves Prime members time.”
